Thanks to everyone who helped out with their time or money to make this year another fantastic HLS&R. Here are some photos from the show:

Rodeo Institute for Teacher Excellence Luncheons

The Mary J. Hamilton Con Dios Foundation has been honored to attend the RITE (Rodeo Institute for Teacher Excellence) luncheon for several years.  This luncheon is funded by the PSH Foundation and honors the Mary Jane Hamilton Teachers of the Year.  We are excited to be able to now lend our financial support to RITE.  Mary Hamilton truly was an exceptional teacher and rodeo volunteer.  What a blessing it is to honor her memory by supporting such a worthy institution.  We look forward to many more years supporting their endeavors.

Our Fundraising Efforts

Our first fund-raising effort took place during the 2007 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. With the help of our friends, the Bluebonnet Belles, we sold raffle tickets at $20. The grand prize was a trip for two to Cabo San Lucas, generously donated by Robert and Michelle Marsh.

Our second fundraiser was a Friends of Mary Barbecue held at Davis Bros. Construction in January 2008. Friends and family helped us celebrate our love for Mary Hamilton. Everyone enjoyed a delicious barbecue dinner, drinks, and dancing. Tom Davis even led a sing-a-long. The evening closed with a special prayer and the releasing of over 60 green and white balloons.

We completed another successful fundraiser in February 2009 by raffling a bird hunt for four persons in Argentina, complete with airfare. The Mary J. Hamilton Con Dios Foundation is grateful to our board members, Tom Davis and Dr. Phil Leggett for their contributions of airfare and accommodations. But most of all, we appreciate the generosity of everyone who continue to support our good works in Mary’s honor.
